We are currently seeking enthusiastic electrophysiologist/structural biologist.

Postdoctoral Fellow

One postdoctoral position is available immediately to investigate the structure and function of mammalian ion channel signaling complexes using multidisciplinary approaches including structural analysis, electrophysiological patch-clamp recording, proteomics, biochemistry, and biophysics.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative individual with strong knowledge and expertise in electrophysiology/structural biology to work on a project investigating the structure-function of ligand-gated ion channel signaling complexes. Our research interests are focused on understanding the regulatory mechanisms of ion channels and on dissecting the signaling networks/ ion channel- accessory protein interactions in the context of neuronal/synaptic signaling.

The successful candidate must have a recent Ph.D. obtained within three years (or being in the process of completing one) in a relevant field with a demonstrated track record of productive research. Experience in  patch-clamp electrophysiology or single particle cryo-EM is highly desirable but not necessary.

Interested applicants should submit (1) a cover letter describing research interests; (2) a CV; and (3) contact information for three references by email to Nami.

Graduate Students

If you are interested in the Tajima Lab at CWRU, make sure to apply to the CWRU Schoo of Medicine Biomedical Sciences Training Program.

If you are a CWRU graduate student interested in rotations, please email Nami with your CV and brief statement of research interests. Please feel free to contact Nami if you have any questions.

Undergraduate Students

Highly motivated undergraduates who are considering graduate school and seeking extensive research experience are welcome to apply. Students without prior research experience are expected to commit to at least a few semesters in the lab. Paid research positions are available during the summer but are typically offered to those who have already gained experience. We also encourage you to apply to the Summer Research Scholars Program at Case Western Reserve University.
